This study examines the effect of a positive work environment on the retention of high-performing teachers and educational staff at SMK PGRI Pagar Alam. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to selected teachers and staff. The instrument was confirmed to be valid and reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.880 and 0.907). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The results show that the work environment is perceived as positive (mean = 54.03) and the level of retention is high (mean = 34.91). A positive and significant relationship was found between the work environment and retention (r = 0.564, p < 0.01). Regression analysis indicates that a positive work environment significantly influences retention, explaining 31.9% of the variance (R² = 0.319). These findings emphasize the importance of fostering a positive work environment to retain high-performing teachers and educational staff in vocational schools.
